Every senior brings a different energy into their session and Coby's session quickly became one of my favorites because he wasn't afraid to have fun.

If there’s one thing I hope every senior takes away from their session, it’s that they don’t have to fit into a certain mold. The best senior photos happen when you bring a little bit of yourself along. For Coby, that meant bringing his cowboy hat, his rope, and a whole lot of personality.
We kicked off his senior session at Palo Duro Canyon with a few photos of him showing off his roping skills. It wasn’t just a prop—it was something that represented who he is, and I love finding ways to include those personal touches during a session.
As the evening went on, things got a little less serious…and a whole lot more fun. Somewhere along the way we had taken a turn...the finger guns made an appearance, the cowboy attitude came out.
Before I knew it, he was pretending to take a nap right in the middle of the grass like he’d been riding the range all day. I definitely wasn’t expecting the session to turn into a full on western, but I’m so glad it did.
Those are honestly some of my favorite moments as a senior photographer. The posed photos are great, but the laughing, joking around, and letting your personality take over—are usually the ones people remember most. That’s exactly what happened during Coby’s session.

One image from this session ended up becoming even more special.
I’m so excited to share that it was selected for publication in Issue 42 of Senior Muse Magazine. It’s always an honor to have my work published, but it’s even more meaningful when it’s a photo that perfectly captures a senior’s personality.

Whether your idea of the perfect senior session includes your medals, ballet shoes, horses, guitars, downtown streets, or a cowboy hat and a rope, I’m all for it. Your senior session should feel like you, not like everyone else.

If you’re looking for an Amarillo senior photographer, or you’re planning senior pictures in Palo Duro Canyon, Canyon, Tulia, Lubbock, or anywhere across the Texas Panhandle, I’d love to help create a session that’s completely unique to you.

Senior year only happens once. Let’s make it unforgettable.
